Description
Canis Extra Vit/Min Variety Flakes are an air-dried high fibre dog food flake, replacing the vegetable and fruit supplement/side dish in meat feeding.
This makes it very easy to prepare a home-made meal for your dog. The flake mix for dogs is soaked in water and then fed together with our Canis Plus® Meat Pots, Meat Rolls or raw meat.
Our fibre-rich Vit/Min Variety Flakes impress with their simple yet especially filling recipe, made from natural ingredients.
For natural variety in the bowl, we rely on 100% plant power – without any artificial additives. The ingredients in our flakes are carefully selected so that even allergic dogs tolerate them well. Vegetables, fruit and herbs are gently air-dried so that dogs can benefit from the full power of plants with essential vitamins, minerals and trace elements.
- Courgettes are low in calories, easily digestible and rich in fibre. Containing vitamin C, B6 and folic acid, they support the immune system, nerve function, and cell health of the dog.
- Parsnips, a naturally aromatic root vegetable providing important minerals such as potassium, magnesium, iron and zinc. These are important for heart, muscles, blood formation and skin health.
- Millet is a highly digestible, energy packed ingredient, naturally rich in B vitamins, silicon and important fibres. Carefully processed and granulated, it not only provides fuel for your dog but also keeps them full and satisfied for hours.
- Apples contain pectin, a soluble fibre that supports gut health; they also contain vitamin C and B6, folic acid and potassium.
- Rosehip shells and watercress provide a variety of valuable vitamins, such as vitamins C, A, E, B1, B2 and K1.
- Dandelion, a true miracle herb, containing bitter substances that can stimulate appetite, support digestion and promote bile production in the liver, helping to facilitate fat digestion. Normal urinary tract function can also be supported by dandelion.
The high fibre content of our flake mix for dogs can stimulate intestinal peristalsis, which promotes healthy digestive processes and nourishes a healthy gut flora. Fibre can increase the volume of a meal without providing many calories, helping dogs feel fuller for longer. They ensure that food stays longer in the digestive tract. This promotes the feeling of satiety and ensures that the stool has optimal consistency and volume, which can support the independent emptying of the anal glands.
It is very important that vegetables, fruit and herbs in dog food flakes, are not pre-cooked in order to preserve the plant textures and the valuable secondary plant compounds as much as possible. This way, feeding remains simple and practical, while still being nutrient-rich. Canis Extra Vit/Min Variety Flakes, our air-dried, high fibre flakes, specially designed to keep hungry dogs full, satisfied and healthy, provide the optimal vitamin, mineral and fibre-rich supplement to Naturavetal® Meat Pots, Meat Rolls and raw meat. Naturavetal® Tips for feeding flakes
For dogs prone to soft stool:
With a reduced amount of water, our Vit/Min Variety Flakes can help to firm up soft stools due to their nutritional properties. To do this, halve the amount of water and reduce the soaking time from 15 minutes to 5-10 minutes.
For dogs that need extra filling meals:
Soaked overnight, Canis Extra Vit/Min Variety Flakes expand to create a substantial, filling volume. You can therefore prepare the flakes in the evening and feed them the next morning.

Feeding recommendation
Normalhealthy dogs should receive approximately a 30% plant-based supplement per day (see table). If you wish to feed your dog more or a lower amount of vegetable/plant based supplement, you can calculate the amount of flakes as follows:
1 tablespoon of dry flakes corresponds to approx. 30g of fresh plant-based supplement.
Preparation
Divide the flakes and water across the meals. Mix the dry flakes with warm water, let them swell for 15 minutes, and then combine with the meat in each meal. The flakes can be soaked in either lukewarm or cold water.
Our tables show the average recommended daily ration. Please use the lower values as a guide and increase the amount of food towards the higher values if necessary. Please also remember to add calcium and oil every day, if you feed our meat variations and our flake mix for dogs as main food. 1 tablespoon of flakes corresponds to approx. 10g.
